Fall Seasons Endings, Winter Beginnings
By Jakob Johansen
Fall sports has now finally and sadly come to an end for many successful teams. 5 out of 7 teams made it to state this year, making the fall season an extremely rewarding one. Luckily, the success of the Edmonds Woodway Warriors doesn’t seem as if it’s ending in fall as the winter sports startup. The Warriors four winter sports are looking to keep this train of success, as the Basketball, Wrestling, Boy’s Swim, and Dance teams begin their trek to the top.
The Basketball team is looking to make a statement this year with the new players added to the team such as: Eddie Seare and Robert Brown. This year, they aim to return to the top ten in state division as they did 2 years ago. They are already looking good as they got their first victory over Inglemoor in a 64-31 game. The Basketball teams next challengers are Cascade at home, Meadowdale at home, Marysville-Pilchuck at Marysville High, and Shorewood at home all at 7:15pm.
The Boy’s Swim team is looking to keep on the grind, improving their record from 4-6, 2 years ago and 5-4, last year have an even better record this year. The Boy’s swim practices have already begun and have raised the hopes of the team that they will continue their upward streak. The Swim team will take on Shorecrest and Mountlake Terrace at the Lynwood pool on December 5th at 3pm, Cascade also at the Lynwood pool and at 3pm on December 7th, then they will take on Everett at the Forest Park Pool at 2:30pm on December 12th.
The Wrestling team went undefeated last year in impressive fashion, the closest match being decided by 26 points! This year they have big shoes to fill but the EW Wrestling team is more ready than ever to take on the challenge to go back to back with undefeated seasons. The next victims of the Wrestling team being Stanwood on December 6th at 5:30 followed by Snohomish at 7 both at home, then the Rose City Championships on the 8th and the 9th at Westview High school.
The Dance team is looking to keep shocking the world with their amazing dancing and fundraisers for our school. The Dance team has already been prepping for the 13th annual EWHS hosted Dance/Drill competition all year and plan to continue impressing people left and right as they do.
Make sure to support these teams and let’s go Warriors!
